A prominent stakeholder of the Labour Party in Abia State, Mazi Emmanuel Uche, has expressed confidence that voters in Arochukwu Local Government Area will support Governor Alex Otti and the Labour Party in the 2027 governorship election.
Uche, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Sonacop Industrial Limited, stated this while speaking with journalists on Tuesday. He said electorates in Arochukwu would also support other Labour Party candidates as part of efforts to sustain the policies and programmes of the present administration in the state.
According to him, Governor Otti has, through the execution of various socioeconomic and infrastructural projects, demonstrated what he described as a commitment to the development of Abia State.
The Labour Party chieftain said the administration’s investments in infrastructure and human capital development had contributed to development across rural and urban communities in the state.
He also highlighted developments in the education and healthcare sectors, claiming that public schools across the state had received attention through the construction and renovation of classroom blocks, provision of laboratory facilities and other infrastructure.
“Teachers and lecturers are trained, and new teachers are recruited, employed and posted across public schools to enhance teaching and learning for every Abia pupil and student,” he said.
On healthcare, Uche said the Otti administration had provided medical facilities, renovated and upgraded general and specialist hospitals, and improved healthcare centres across the state.
He said the measures were aimed at improving the efficiency of healthcare delivery and making medical services more accessible to residents.
Reiterating his support for the governor’s reelection bid, Uche declared that, in his view, there would be no vacancy in the Abia State Government House in 2027.
He urged Governor Otti to remain focused on governance, saying the projects and policies of the administration had, in his assessment, strengthened support for the governor’s bid for a second term.
Uche, a Labour Party stakeholder in the Southeast, said he expected Abia voters to decide the outcome of the 2027 governorship election based on their assessment of the performance of the current administration.
