Dr. Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji Ndị Igbo, spoke during the Grand Civic Reception organized by the Ukwa La Ngwa people in honour of Governor Otti at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba. He said the governor’s performance in office has redefined governance in Abia State and restored public confidence in leadership.
“Governor Otti is truly deserving of these accolades,” Anyaso said. “He has profoundly impacted and transformed the narrative of Abia across nearly every sector, justifying the confidence the people have placed in him.”
The event, which attracted a massive turnout, served both as a celebration of the administration’s achievements and a clear political statement. Leaders of the Ukwa La Ngwa bloc officially endorsed Governor Otti for a second term in 2027 and pledged to personally fund the purchase of his nomination forms.
In his remarks, Governor Otti expressed gratitude for the warm reception and described the endorsement as particularly significant because it came from his own people.
“There is a saying that a prophet is without honour in his own country,” the governor said. “The best reception is the one from your own people. I sincerely appreciate the organizers and those who have pledged to purchase the nomination form for the 2027 election. This support will not be taken for granted.”
Speaking on behalf of the Ukwa La Ngwa people, Chief Theo Nkire commended the governor for revitalizing the state’s economy, with particular emphasis on the ongoing transformation of Aba into an emerging world-class industrial and commercial hub.
The endorsement was further reinforced by traditional rulers from the Ukwa La Ngwa Nation, who presented Governor Otti with symbolic gifts. In a joint declaration, the monarchs pledged their total support for his administration, declaring that the region would “not go back to Egypt,” a metaphorical reference to past political eras in the state.
The reception drew dignitaries, traditional rulers, captains of industry, and political stakeholders from across Nigeria, signaling broad-based support for Governor Otti’s “Rebuilding Abia” agenda as preparations for the 2027 elections begin to gather momentum.
