The body which is a foremost political group in Ikwuano LGA made the declaration in its inaugural meeting for 2026 which held earlier today in the LGA.

Conveying the group’s decision to pass the vote of confidence on Senator Akobundu to the public, Chairman of the group, Rear Admiral Raphael Osondu (rtd), and the Secretary, Pastor Ekeleme Akobundu, said the group reached the decision after carefully and painstakingly analysing the senator’s performance in the Senate. They announced that they were particularly delighted with his peaceful and gentlemanly mien and the maturity with which he conducts himself as a Senator without sowing seeds of discord or enmeshing himself in any needless controversy in the constituency and the state despite the many and divergent political interests he has to manage.

They also highlighted his people-oriented projects which include roads, streetlights, skills acquisition centres, and human capital development endeavours like scholarships, trainings in ICT, farming, sewing, cosmetics production, paint making, and the gifting of cash and empowerment kits to beneficiaries drawn from across the constituency, among other things, as some of the reasons they passed the vote of confidence in the Senator. While promising to continue giving Senator Akobundu honest and impassioned advice to help him stay the course, the group solicited support from the people for the senator.

The meeting was attended by notable PDP leaders including Hon Stanley Nwabuisi, Prince Obinna Okey, Elder Henry Nwoha, Ugoeze Onyemachi, Comrade Cokey Nwachukwu, Dcn Obioma Igwe and a host of others.
