The acquisition marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Kaduna-based club, which will compete in the Nigeria National League (NNL) in the upcoming season. Once a dominant force in Nigerian football, Rancher Bees FC boasts a rich history, having produced several notable internationals and enjoyed strong support within the Kaduna football community.
Speaking on the development, Sadiq Umar expressed his enthusiasm about restoring the club’s former glory.
“I and my partner Hon. Bello El-Rufai want to return the club to its old glory days. Growing up, I watched Rancher Bees of Kaduna, a club that produced countless players. It’s a thing of pride and joy for us to be the bona fide owners of the club,” Sadiq said.
The new owners have outlined ambitious plans, including the establishment of both an academy team and a professional squad for the NNL campaign.
“Our target is to secure promotion to the NPFL. I’m elated by the feedback from Rancher Bees supporters and the people of Kaduna. We will bring back the old memories of the club and return the fans to the stadium,” Sadiq added.
With strong backing from a passionate local fanbase, the revival of Rancher Bees FC promises an exciting journey as the club works toward reclaiming its place among Nigeria’s football elite.
