The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Austin Akobundu has described the appointment of former Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, as a demonstration of the President’s faith in his “competence, diligence, and commitment to promoting our nation’s interest in such an important country.”
Akobundu stated this in his congratulatory message to Ikpeazu shortly after his posting to Spain was announced.
Akobundu who said he received news of the deployment with immense joy, stated that he had no doubt that Dr Ikpeazu would deliver satisfactorily on his mandate “for the good of our people in Spain while strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
“On behalf of my family and the people of Abia Central Senatorial District, I most heartily felicitate with you and wish you success in this chapter of your national service,” he concluded.
