The first phase of Senator Austin Akobundu’s Free Medical Outreach has come to an end in Osisioma Ngwa LGA.
The final leg of the programme’s first phase, which covered three LGAs of Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Osisioma Ngwa, respectively, ended today at the Osisioma Garden, Osisioma Junction, in Osisioma Ngwa LGA.
Just like the ones earlier held in Ikwuano and Umuahia North LGAs, the turnout was very impressive.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the media after the programme, expressed delight at the initiative and effusively thanked Senator Austin Akobundu for the gesture, saying that the free consultations, tests, drugs and eye glasses have saved them a lot of expenses that would otherwise have eaten deep into their pockets if they had visited a hospital for the same purpose.
The beneficiaries further extoled the professionalism, quality of medical equipment, drugs, eye glasses, and services rendered by the medical personnel from the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu, engaged for the programme.
While praying God to bless Senator Akobundu and bring his aspirations to fruition, they appealed to him for more of such exercises in the future, describing it as “a life-saving exercise.”
The free medical outreach is one of Senator Austin Akobundu’s numerous people-centred programmes which are tailored to directly cater to the wellbeing of the people.
