The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has dismissed reports claiming that Corps Member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, with state code number LA/24B/8325, was denied her Certificate of National Service (CNS) for making critical remarks about the government.
In a statement, the NYSC said the allegation was false, explaining that Rita is among 131 corps members whose certificates were withheld for disciplinary reasons. According to the Corps, her service year was extended by two months after she failed to attend the April 2025 biometric clearance, in line with NYSC bye-laws.
The management stressed that the extension is a routine sanction for non-compliance and not unique to her case, urging the public to avoid politicising the matter.
The NYSC reaffirmed its commitment to upholding its mandate in line with the constitution.
