Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has announced the full restoration of night flight operations at the Victor Attah International Airport.

The Governor disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, noting that the Ibom Airport Development Company successfully completed the overhaul of navigational aids and lighting systems by the September 30 deadline he had set.

He commended the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), the Managing Director/CEO, and the Board of the Airport Company for their commitment to ensuring the milestone was achieved.

“With this development, our flagship Ibom Air and other airlines can now operate seamlessly, day and night,” Governor Eno said.

He added that the move marks another bold step towards positioning Akwa Ibom as the nation’s tourism hub, especially as the state prepares for the commissioning of the ARISE Resorts and other ongoing projects in the aviation and tourism sectors.
