In a move similar to Governor Hope Uzodinma’s earlier strategy in Imo State, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has directed the reservation of all hotel rooms in Awka for government use.

A letter dated September 18, 2025, from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), addressed to Ken Suites & Hotels, Awka, instructed the management to reserve all their rooms for five days, from November 4 to November 9, 2025, to accommodate government guests.
The letter, signed on behalf of the SSG by Soba J.U, also requested the hotel to forward its terms and conditions within three days for official consideration. It further provided a contact line for inquiries and clarification.
Although the purpose of the mass reservation was not disclosed in the correspondence, but the reservation dates quoted in the letter corresponds with the timeframe of the Independent National Electoral Commission on the Anambra Governorship Election, which is slated to hold on 8th of November 2025.
This development mirrors Governor Uzodinma’s approach in Imo, where hotels were fully booked during the 2023 Governorship Election in the State.
