In a statement issued on Monday, November 24, 2025, Ihedioha described the accusations as “baseless” and “completely unfounded,” stressing that he neither owns shares in EEDC nor participates in its corporate decision-making in any capacity.

“I do not own EEDC in any form, whether whole or part, beneficial or nominal. I am not on its board, I hold no shares, and I do not participate in or influence its corporate decisions in any way,” he said. “Those peddling these narratives are relying on fiction, not fact.”

Ihedioha commended the current Imo State Government for its ongoing power sector initiatives, noting that any sincere effort to improve energy access and strengthen infrastructure deserves public encouragement.

He highlighted his administration’s establishment of the Imo State Power and Rural Electrification Agency (IPOREA) as part of his long-term vision to provide stability and structure for power development in the state. “I remain proud of that foundation,” he noted.

The former governor also recalled reviving the Ahiajoku Lecture Series during his tenure, describing it as a vital component of Imo’s cultural and intellectual heritage. He expressed delight that the programme has been sustained by the current administration.

Reaffirming his commitment to the progress of Imo State, Ihedioha pledged continued support for initiatives that uplift citizens and promote development rooted in “truth, integrity, and vision.”

Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha previously served as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (2011–2015) and Governor of Imo State (2019–2020).
