Northern stakeholders of the PDP have nominated former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), as their preferred candidate for the position of National Chairman ahead of the party’s November 15, 2025 National Convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The endorsement, according to party insiders, followed a series of consultations among key northern leaders aimed at presenting a united front and ensuring stability within the party’s leadership structure.
Turaki, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former presidential aspirant, is widely regarded as a unifying figure with vast political and administrative experience. His nomination is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the PDP’s chances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
