In a statewide broadcast at Government House, Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara noted that the period of emergency rule had come with “hard lessons,” but emphasized that Rivers State has emerged stronger from the experience.
“The responsibility now rests squarely on us—the Government, the State House of Assembly, political leaders and stakeholders—to put aside our differences, work for the common good, and advance the interests of our people above all else,” the governor said.
Fubara urged all parties to ensure that the peace now embraced across the state remains permanent, stressing that unity and collective responsibility are key to sustaining stability in Rivers State.
