Chief Uzo Ihuka has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Isialangwa North and South Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The declaration, described by stakeholders as historic, attracted a large gathering of party leaders, executives, grassroots mobilizers, youth and women groups, and supporters from across the constituency. The event marked the formal launch of a campaign focused on unity, transparency, and people-oriented legislative representation.

Addressing supporters, Ihuka said his ambition is driven by a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to effective public service. He emphasized his determination to ensure that the voices and priorities of the constituency are well represented at the national level.

“I am contesting for this seat to ensure that our voices are heard, our priorities reflected, and our constituency advances in all spheres of development,” he said.

He reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, stressing the importance of ideological consistency and disciplined political engagement. Ihuka also pledged inclusive and accountable leadership, assuring constituents of accessibility and transparency if elected.

Ihuka outlined key priorities of his campaign to include education, youth empowerment, women inclusion, infrastructure development, and economic growth. He noted that his legislative agenda would focus on measurable outcomes with direct impact on constituents.

He also emphasized participatory governance, promising to engage community stakeholders and grassroots leaders in
decision-making processes.

In his closing remarks, Ihuka expressed appreciation to party leaders, supporters, and community stakeholders for their backing, assuring them of responsible and impactful representation.

He pledged to work towards building a more inclusive and prosperous Isialangwa Federal Constituency through effective leadership.

Receiving from Labour Party Reps Deputy Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu commended their decision to join the ruling party.
Kalu described their move as a commitment to progressive governance and reiterated the APC’s openness to new members.

The event was attended by several prominent political figures, including Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, APC State Chairman Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, former Abia State House of Assembly Speaker Martins Azubuike, and Hon. Lucky Igbokwe, among other party leaders and stakeholders.
