Sources within the Assembly revealed that the affected nominees were disqualified over issues ranging from alleged poor performance in previous public roles to documentation and integrity concerns.
Those rejected include:
Datonye Fred Alasia – Lawmakers cited poor performance in his previous responsibilities as the major reason for declining his nomination.
OTDK Amachree – The Assembly reportedly received over 11 petitions from members of his community, accusing him of involvement in several unresolved community disputes.
Charity Demua – Her nomination was rejected due to the absence of valid tax documentation, which the Assembly considered a key requirement for public office.
Tamuno Williams – Lawmakers accused him of misleading the public regarding the activities of the Assembly, which they said raised concerns about his suitability for the position.
Out of the nine nominees submitted by Governor Fubara, five were cleared by the Assembly, while the four listed above failed to secure legislative approval.
