In a statement signed by George Ene-Ita, Director of the Public Affairs Department, the Authority emphasized that there is a robust domestic supply of petroleum products—including AGO, PMS, and LPG—sourced from local refineries and imports to ensure timely replenishment of stocks at depots and filling stations during this peak demand period.

NMDPRA cautioned against hoarding or any non-market reflective increase in the prices of petroleum products, stressing that the supply chain remains stable.

The agency also clarified that the previously proposed implementation of a 15% ad-valorem import duty on imported Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Diesel “is no longer in view.”

Ene-Ita noted that the Authority is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to enforce regulatory measures to prevent any disruption in fuel supply and distribution nationwide.

He further appreciated the efforts of stakeholders in maintaining smooth operations within the midstream and downstream sectors, reaffirming NMDPRA’s commitment to guaranteeing energy security across the country.
