The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed the suspension announced by PDP stakeholders meeting in Ibadan, describing the gathering as nothing more than a “social party” where attendees got “intoxicated.”

Wike’s response came after a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reportedly announced disciplinary actions against him and other party figures.
In a statement issued by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Wike downplayed the development, saying those who met in Ibadan “went to start their dirty December in November.”
According to Olayinka, Wike stated that:
> “When people decide to start their own dirty December in November, one can’t take whatever comes from their mouths seriously.
They gathered in Ibadan to do a social party, enjoyed themselves, got intoxicated, and are now free to say anything.”
Wike’s remarks come amidst heightened tensions within the PDP ahead of the planned national convention, with multiple factions issuing conflicting statements on the party’s leadership and direction.
