Tunde Moshood, special adviser on media and communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, disclosed the development in a post on X on Monday. The update comes shortly after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) warned that enforcement actions against unruly conduct in Nigerian airports will become more frequent.

Videos shared on social media show Emmanson attacking flight attendants and confronting airport security officials. Ibom Air said the incident began shortly before take-off in Uyo when Emmanson refused to switch off her mobile phone as required by aviation safety procedures.

According to the airline, a fellow passenger turned off her phone, triggering a heated outburst. Upon arrival in Lagos, she reportedly confronted the purser who issued the instruction and physically assaulted her.

Ibom Air described her behaviour as a serious threat to the safety of its crew, passengers, and aircraft. The airline has since placed a travel ban on Emmanson, prohibiting her from boarding any of its flights in the future.
