The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has emerged as the Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State.

Kalu, who represents Bende Federal Constituency, was unanimously endorsed during an APC stakeholders’ meeting held in Bende LGA.
His emergence followed a motion moved by former Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, who represented Abia Central Senatorial District, and seconded by Chris Nkwonta, the member representing Ukwa East and Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Stakeholders at the meeting expressed confidence in Kalu’s leadership capacity, unanimously endorsing him to steer the affairs of the APC in Abia State.
