President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ayo Hulayat Omidiran, a former member of the House of Representatives, as the new Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, FCC.

Omidiran takes over from Dr. Muheeba Dankaka, whose tenure was mired in controversy.
The President also named Mohammed Musa as the Commission’s Secretary, while retaining Kayode Oladele from Ogun State as Commissioner. Oladele, also a former House of Representatives member, had been serving as Acting Chairman of the FCC following Dankaka’s exit.
