In a letter dated November 19, 2025, and signed by the National Secretary, H.E. Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, the PDP expressed deep concern that for several years, all matters filed either by or against the party at the Federal High Court, Abuja, have consistently been assigned to three judges only
Justice James Omotosho,
Justice Peter Odo Lifu, and
Justice Abdulmalik.

The party noted that the Abuja Division has 12 judges, yet cases concerning the PDP have repeatedly gone to the same three, raising what it called “fear and apprehension” among party members.

While reiterating its respect and confidence in the judiciary, the PDP stressed that justice must be seen to be done. It urged the Chief Judge to ensure that future cases involving the party are fairly distributed among all available judges rather than limited to a select few.

According to the letter, party members and the public have begun to view the three courts as “courts of particular concern” due to the sensitive political nature of the matters involved.

The PDP pleaded that henceforth no further party-related cases be assigned exclusively to the three judges, arguing that justice is rooted in trust, transparency, and even distribution of judicial responsibilities.

The letter, endorsed by both the National Working Committee and the National Executive Committee, called on the Chief Judge to address the concerns urgently to maintain public confidence in the judiciary.
