Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, a close ally of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and member representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives, has officially announced his resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Jibrin described his expulsion from the party as a shock, faulting the NNPP leadership for failing to observe due process or grant him a fair hearing before the decision was made.“It came as a surprise and a rude shock, my sudden expulsion from the NNPP.

I strongly believe the contents of the interview I granted a few days ago should not warrant such heavy penalty.

Even under military dictatorship, an accused is subjected to a court martial,” he said.

The lawmaker stressed that his interviews in English and Hausa were in line with the party’s principles of allowing dissenting views and should have served as lessons for the NNPP, not grounds for expulsion.

He also addressed allegations of non-payment of dues, insisting he never refused to pay and only requested an invoice from the party.

Jibrin criticized the NNPP’s stance on political value, saying it failed to recognize and respect members’ contributions. While expressing gratitude for the support he enjoyed during his time in the NNPP, Jibrin said he would carefully consider his next political move.

He urged his supporters to join him in his new journey but emphasized that he holds no grudge against those who remain in the NNPP.

“Finally, I will carefully weigh all the options before me as I decide on my next political home. So help me God,” he declared.
