Former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Ifeanyi Uchendu, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 general election for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Uchendu made the declaration on Sunday via a post on his official Facebook page, where he expressed a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the people of the constituency.
In his statement, the APC chieftain called for unity, cooperation, and collective support from constituents, noting that meaningful representation and sustainable development can only be achieved through a united front.
“This journey cannot be undertaken alone. I sincerely ask for your love, your unity, and your cooperation,” he stated, emphasizing that trust and support are essential foundations for effective leadership and collective progress.
Uchendu said he is fully aware of the challenges confronting Arochukwu and Ohafia communities and pledged to tackle them with dedication, experience, and integrity. According to him, his decision to seek elective office is driven by the need to restore purposeful representation and ensure that the voices of the people are adequately represented at the national level.
He further assured constituents that he would work tirelessly to justify the confidence reposed in him if given the mandate.
“Trust me, I will do well. Together, we can make the difference our constituency truly deserves,” Uchendu said.
Uchendu is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly.
