A member of the Abia State House of Assembly representing Aba North State Constituency, Aaron Uzodike, has defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Uzodike announced his defection during an Abia APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the residence of Benjamin Kalu in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
The lawmaker’s political journey followed a prolonged legal battle after the 2023 Abia State House of Assembly election. Although he initially lost the poll to Hon. Destiny Akara, Uzodike was later declared winner by the Court of Appeal.
His eventual swearing-in came several months after the court ruling, following a series of protests.
