The Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has publicly distanced himself from the motion seeking the expulsion of key Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, and former Imo PDP governorship candidate Samuel Anyanwu.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Governor Mutfwang clarified that the motion did not emanate from the PDP Governors Forum nor was it deliberated upon by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) before it was presented. He stressed that the move does not represent his stance.
Mutfwang cautioned that expelling prominent party figures at a time when the PDP is grappling with internal challenges would be counterproductive. He emphasized the need for unity, reconciliation, and collective action to strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.
The statement was signed by Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, on November 15, 2025.
