Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago of Niger State has dissolved the state cabinet, relieving all commissioners and senior political appointees of their duties.

In a statement issued on Monday, the governor directed the affected officials to hand over to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.
However, key government officials, including the Chief of Staff, the Deputy Chief of Staff, the Secretary to the State Government, and principal officers at the Government House, were exempted from the dissolution and will continue in their positions.Governor Bago is expected to announce a new cabinet in the coming days as part of efforts to reposition his administration.
