In a statement issued on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, the governor described the reports as baseless and misleading, stressing that he has no knowledge of, or involvement in, any move to impeach the Speaker.“Governor Alia is not aware of, and has no involvement whatsoever in, any purported attempt to remove the Speaker or in any activities currently taking place in the Benue State House of Assembly,” the statement read in part.

He noted that he has consistently responded to communications and resolutions from the Assembly, citing recent instances where he promptly implemented key resolutions forwarded to his office.
