The Labour Party has appointed Hon. Ginger Onwusibe as Chairman of its National Convention Committee ahead of the party’s 2026 congresses and national convention.

Onwusibe, a member of the House of Representatives representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, will lead the committee tasked with overseeing the party’s internal electoral process and coordinating activities for the upcoming convention.
According to a special announcement released by the party’s national secretariat, the congresses are scheduled to hold in phases, beginning with ward congresses, followed by local government and state congresses, before culminating in the national convention in April 2026.
The committee comprises several party stakeholders and representatives from affiliated groups, who will work together to ensure a smooth and transparent process in electing new party executives at all levels.
