Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has debunked rumours suggesting he is avoiding members of the Rivers State House of Assembly amid speculations of an impending political confrontation.

Speaking on Monday, the governor clarified that a scheduled meeting between the executive arm and lawmakers had not held because the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike — who was expected to facilitate the engagement — had yet to set it up.
According to Governor Fubara, he remains open to dialogue and is committed to maintaining peace and stability in the state.
The clarification comes amid heightened tension and public concern over the relationship between the governor and the state assembly, with many anticipating a potential showdown.
Governor Fubara assured residents that his administration is focused on governance and will continue to prioritize the interests of the people of Rivers State.
