At the center of the dispute are the roles of National Chairman and National Secretary, which have become subjects of intense negotiations.
Reports indicate that the PDP governors are leaning towards installing former Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, as the party’s next National Chairman.
However, Wike’s faction is said to be strongly pushing for former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, to clinch the chairmanship position instead.
The leadership crisis underscores the deepening divisions within the PDP, as both blocs seek to assert dominance ahead of the party’s restructuring process and future electoral battles.
