Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Obingwa Local Government Area, Elder Hon. Chief Seth Nkwachi Agomuo, has formally rejected his reported appointment as a member of the Abia State PDP Caretaker Committee.

This was contained in a letter made available to Ireporta, addressed to the Chairman of the PDP Caretaker Committee in Abia State.

In the letter, dated February 9, 2026, Agomuo stated that he was not officially communicated to in writing regarding the appointment, adding that he only became aware of it through messages circulated on various platforms and through phone calls he received.
While expressing appreciation to those who considered him for the position, he noted that the appointment was made without prior consultation or pre-information. Consequently, he declined the offer, citing personal reasons.
“I hereby reject the appointment for personal reasons and regret any inconvenience(s) this rejection may cause your party,” the letter read.
The letter was also copied to the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP through the Caretaker Chairman.
According to sources it is alleged that the former PDP chairman has joined most Distinguished Senator Enyi Harcourt Abaribe to the ADC.
