The Federal High Court in Abuja has upheld the Senator Nnadi Esther Usman–led National Caretaker Committee as the only valid and lawful leadership of the Labour Party.

Delivering judgment, Honourable Justice Lifu reaffirmed that, in line with the Supreme Court’s ruling, the tenure of Julius Abure had elapsed. The court consequently ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Senator Nnadi Usman forthwith.
The development was disclosed by human rights lawyer, Barrister Inibehe Effiong, who stated that he was present at the Federal High Court, Abuja, where he listened to the judgment delivered in a related case. He shared the update via his official Facebook handle.
