The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has approved the indefinite suspension of Stanley Lebechi Mbam, Commissioner for Works, and Ogbonnaya Obasi Abara, Commissioner for Infrastructure Development (Concession), over alleged dereliction of duty.

The affected commissioners have been directed to immediately hand over all government property, including official vehicles, to the Secretary to the State Government. The announcement was issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, on February 28, 2026.
