The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aondona Dajoh, has resigned from his position.

In a resignation letter dated 24th August 2025 and addressed to the Clerk of the Assembly, Dajoh stated that his decision to step down was taken “in good faith and in the best interest of the state.”
The Speaker expressed gratitude to his colleagues for giving him the opportunity to serve, noting that it was a privilege to be the “first among equals.”
He further pledged his continued commitment to his legislative duties as the representative of Gboko West State Constituency, assuring that he would keep working in the interest of his people despite stepping down as Speaker.
