The Labour Party has officially zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the southern region of Nigeria.

The party’s National Chairperson, Nenadi Usman, made this known on Tuesday in Abuja, stating that the decision had already been concluded within the party.
According to Usman, the Labour Party will not entertain any presidential aspirant from the northern region, emphasizing that the zoning arrangement is final.
“We have one certain decision that we have taken and that is that we will certainly not field any aspirant from northern Nigeria. We have zoned the position to southern Nigeria,” she said.
She further stressed that any attempt by a northerner to contest under the party’s platform for the 2027 presidential election would not be accepted.
