The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an upward review of passport application fees, which will take effect from September 1.

According to the new rates, a 32-page passport with a five-year validity period will now cost ₦100,000, while a 64-page passport with a 10-year validity period will cost ₦200,000.

The development marks a significant increase from the previous charges and is expected to generate mixed reactions among Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.
