The Bende Youths’ Consultative Forum has thrown its weight behind the re-election of Abia State Governor, Alex Chioma Otti, for a second term in 2027, while also endorsing Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso (Ofuji) for the House of Representatives seat for Bende Federal Constituency.
In a press statement issued by its chairman, Hon. Chief Emenike Okorie, the apex socio-political youth body in Bende Local Government Area commended the governor’s leadership style, highlighting transparency, inclusiveness, and people-focused governance as hallmarks of his administration.
The group noted that since assuming office, Governor Otti has restored public confidence and renewed hope among residents of Abia State, both locally and in the diaspora.
Strategic Appointments Praised
The forum also applauded the governor’s inclusive governance, pointing to key appointments granted to indigenes of Bende Federal Constituency. It specifically acknowledged the appointment of Frank Iheanyi Chinasa as Abia State Liaison Officer in Abuja, describing it as recognition of Bende’s contributions to the state’s growth.
Infrastructure Gains Highlighted
The youths expressed appreciation for ongoing infrastructural projects, particularly the reconstruction of the Umuahia–Uzuakoli–Akara–Alayi–Igbere Road, which they said is already boosting economic activity, improving connectivity, and enhancing living standards across communities.
Call for Additional Road Projects
Despite the commendation, the group made further appeals for government intervention in additional critical road networks, including the Igbere–Ozuitem–Bende Road and the Isiegbu Ozuitem–Umuhu Ezechi–Amaeke Abam Ring Road. According to the forum, completing these projects would significantly improve rural integration, agricultural transport, and security access.
Endorsement of Otti Again 2027
Reaffirming its position, the forum declared total support for Governor Otti’s second-term ambition, stressing that continuity is necessary to consolidate ongoing reforms and sustain development momentum.
The statement also highlighted the role of Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji, who is credited as the founder and sole sponsor of the “Otti Again 2027 Movement,” a group mobilizing grassroots support for the governor’s re-election.
2027 Outlook for Bende Representation
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, the forum described Anyaso’s aspiration to represent Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives as a strategic opportunity. It said his emergence could strengthen federal-state collaboration, attract developmental projects, and expand youth empowerment initiatives.
Conclusion
The Bende Youths’ Consultative Forum reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the current administration’s vision of a “New Abia,” pledging continued partnership in promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development across the state.
The statement concluded with strong political endorsements: “Otti Again 2027” and “Ofuji for Bende 2027,” signaling early momentum ahead of the next election cycle.
