The Labour Party in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh also warned against the penchant by Nenadi Usman group to always misinform Nigerians and spreading falsehood
The party said that it was untrue that a court has stopped the party congresses across the nation. It warned these anti democratic group to stop taking Nigerians for a ride and must stop taking well meaning Nigerians as dumping ground for their fake news.
“First, let me inform our loyal party members that no court in Nigeria has ordered the cancellation of the congresses by our party. Rather, a group of dissidents working for some suspended and expelled members of our party went forum shopping and succeeded in getting a rural court in Abia state to stop our congresses in the state.
“We know who they are and who they are working for. We are not in any way perturbed because they are portraying the obvious signs of the last kick of a dying horse. They have not been able to sleep ever since they heard that INEC has chosen to do the right thing by recognizing the legitimate leadership of Barrister Julius Abure of the Labour Party.
“Few days ago, on realising that the train was leaving them behind, they shamelessly rushed to INEC to submit the outcome of their July illegal meeting in November, which include their executive members handpicked by some demi-gods some where.
“This is also the same way they made fruitless effort to misinterpret the Supreme Court judgement that clearly validated Abure leadership of the Labour Party. ”
Below is the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Abia State High Court in Isiala Ngwa. We will let Nigerians see for themselves how the desperation of these group has continued to make them small in the eyes of Nigerians.
Finally, we want to reconfirm that the congresses scheduled to commence as from December 2 with the ward congresses, December 4, Local Government Area and December 6 in the states will go ahead as already notified INEC, police and other agencies.
