The spokesperson of the Emeka Beke–led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Darlington Nwuju, has criticised the recent presentation of an APC membership card to Governor Siminalayi Fubara by Tony Okocha, describing the act as legally questionable and potentially voidable in court.

Speaking to journalists, Nwuju insisted that Okocha lacks the legal authority to act as the party’s chairman in the state or to issue official membership cards. He argued that the action not only violates due process but also amounts to “a slap on the judiciary”, given that Okocha’s claim to the chairmanship is already being challenged in two separate court cases.
Nwuju maintained that the pending litigations form the basis of his objection, warning that the APC in Rivers State must tread carefully to avoid “another round of avoidable legal battles.”
He emphasized that the party should uphold the rule of law and await judicial clarity before taking actions that could deepen internal disputes.
