The member representing Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide, has dismissed the political relevance of former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, in the build-up to the 2027 general elections.

Speaking in an interview, Abejide said Amaechi no longer commands the political influence required to sway voters in Rivers State.

“Amaechi is not a factor in the 2027 election; he can’t win in Rivers State. He’s not a politician now; he was just a politician before. We’re talking about people who can pull a crowd. You talk about Atiku; I agree. You can talk about Obi; I agree. Amaechi is out of the calculation,” he stated.

Abejide also warned that a coalition involving prominent political figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Rauf Aregbesola, David Mark, Rotimi Amaechi, and Peter Obi could push members out of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
