Senator Austin Akobundu has described the Senate President, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, as a consummate politician who has dedicated himself to nation-building and service of the people.

Akobundu stated this in his message to Akpabio on the occasion of his 63rd birthday.
While extolling the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State for his exemplary transformational voyage over the years starting from his younger days even long before his foray into politics, Akobundu said Akpabio has remained a nationalist whose leadership style is all-encompassing, blind to region, religion or such parochial considerations.
This, he said, is part of the reason the senate president has continued to rise in his political career despite the many challenges he has encountered in the process.
“His resilience is a lesson to the weak; his perseverance, an example to the downcast. To be so successful in Nigeria’s political environment requires faith in God and service to humanity.
“Akpabio has demonstrated both in abundance to the admiration of his peers and the people. And this is obviously just the beginning. Such statesmen and uncommon democrats are hard to come by; they deserve every accolade they can get for their astonishing achievements.
“It is for this and many more that I join family, friends, associates and well-wishers all over the world to wish you, Mr Senate President, a happy birthday and best wishes for the future,” Akobundu concluded.
