In just one week, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recorded over 1.3 million pre-registrations for Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across the country.According to the latest figures released by the commission, Abia State accounted for 772 registrations within the period under review.

Lagos State topped the chart with 222,205 pre-registrations, followed by Osun with 393,269, Ogun with 132,823, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with 107,682.Other states with significant numbers include Kaduna (61,592), Kogi (58,546), Oyo (66,951), and Kebbi (35,009).Meanwhile, Ebonyi (261), Enugu (484), and Imo (481) recorded the lowest pre-registration figures nationwide.In total, 1,379,342 Nigerians successfully pre-registered for their PVCs between the period under review.
INEC has urged eligible citizens, especially first-time voters, to take advantage of the ongoing registration exercise to secure their voter cards ahead of the next general elections.
