The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Austin Akobundu, on the occasion of his birthday.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Umuahia and signed by the Abia State PDP Chairman, Abraham Amah, the party described Senator Akobundu as a distinguished patriot, accomplished public servant, and committed party leader whose life has been dedicated to service to Abia State and Nigeria.
The party noted that Akobundu’s record of public service remains remarkable and inspiring, recalling his tenure as Minister of State for Defence where he contributed to strengthening Nigeria’s defence architecture and efforts aimed at safeguarding national unity and stability.
The PDP also commended his leadership roles within the party, including his service as South East Zonal Vice Chairman and later as National Organising Secretary, positions the party said he handled with discipline, strategic leadership, and commitment to the growth and unity of the party.
According to the statement, Akobundu has continued to demonstrate purposeful leadership as the senator representing Abia Central, through effective representation, people-oriented initiatives, and commitment to the development of Abia State and the welfare of his constituents.
The party prayed for good health, wisdom, and many more years of impactful service for the senator.
“On this auspicious occasion, the entire PDP family in Abia State celebrates your life of service, loyalty to democratic ideals, and enduring contributions to the progress of our party and our nation,” the statement read.
