…. Appoints Deputy Clerk
The Abia State House of Assembly has confirmed the nomination of Mr. Chiemela Uzoije and Dr. Salome Obiukwu as commissioner designates in the state.

Their confirmation followed an earlier nomination by Governor Alex Otti and subsequent screening by the lawmakers.
Announcing the confirmation during Thursday’s plenary, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, said the nominees were found competent after being screened at the Executive Session.
Emeruwa had earlier read a letter from Governor Otti, requesting the House to approve the appointments.
In the same vein, the Assembly also confirmed Mrs. Virginia Igbanibo as Deputy Clerk of the Abia State House of Assembly. Igbanibo had been serving in the position in an acting capacity before her confirmation.
