Nigeria’s Super Eagles have suffered a setback ahead of their crucial match against South Africa on Tuesday, as star striker Victor Osimhen has been ruled out due to injury.
According to an official statement from the team, the Galatasaray forward sustained a bruise on his chin and woke up on Sunday with significant discomfort.
The team doctor confirmed the injury and advised that Osimhen would not be fit to travel with the squad to Johannesburg for the fixture.
His absence is a major blow for the Super Eagles, who are counting on their attacking strength as they continue their qualification campaign.
