The decision was contained in a communiqué issued at a meeting of the PDP Ife Federal Constituency held on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the residence of the Osun East Senatorial Leader.
The party accused Hon. Bimbo Ajilesoro, the lawmaker representing Ife Federal Constituency, of betraying the party by defecting despite being elected on its platform.
Leaders further condemned the alleged use of thugs at a constituency meeting by Ife East PDP Chairman, Hon. Olasunkanmi Makinde (popularly known as Benco), purportedly acting on Prof. Oladipo’s instructions.
The communiqué also faulted the continued closeness of Adewusi, Oladipo, and Makinde with Hon. Ajilesoro, despite his defection.
It alleged that loyal PDP members in Ife East who distanced themselves from Ajilesoro were being victimized and removed from party and government positions, while party activities in the local government had been stalled.
Consequently, the party passed a vote of no confidence on Deputy Governor Adewusi, Prof. Oladipo, and Hon. Makinde, accusing them of undermining the PDP’s strength in Ife land.
