Abia State Police Command has announced the recovery of a stolen Toyota Highlander SUV and the arrest of a suspect linked to the case.

According to a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen C. Chinaka, operatives of the Scorpion Squad, acting on credible intelligence, recovered the vehicle on August 22, 2025.
The SUV, with registration number BBR667RM, was earlier reported stolen in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in 2022.The suspect, identified as Emeka Edwin Chukwuma, a native of Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, was apprehended in connection with the case.
Police authorities confirmed that the complainant has been contacted to verify ownership of the recovered vehicle, while further investigations are ongoing.
