The Anambra State House of Assembly on Thursday officially swore in Barrister Mimi Azikiwe as the member representing Onitsha North Constituency One.

Azikiwe, who emerged winner of the recently concluded bye-election, becomes the second female lawmaker in the 8th Assembly. She succeeds the late Honourable Justice Azuka, who previously held the seat.
Administering the oath of office, Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, congratulated Azikiwe on her electoral victory and urged her to apply her knowledge and experience in lawmaking.
He further encouraged her to work in unity with her colleagues for the progress of both her constituency and the state, assuring her of the Assembly’s full support as she undertakes her legislative duties.
