Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has appealed to fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators to give actress Regina Daniels some breathing space, urging the public to show her love, compassion and support as she navigates her health challenges.
Nwoko made the appeal in a statement, stressing that Regina’s well-being should be the priority, particularly for the sake of their children, who, according to him, are well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported as she works towards recovery.
He noted that Regina had been through a lot, adding that the video she shared on her birthday offered the public a glimpse into some of the health challenges she had been dealing with.
According to the senator, the present situation calls for compassion rather than public condemnation, judgment or further criticism.
“Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me,” Nwoko stated, adding that concern for her welfare was what brought much of their private situation into the public domain.
The senator also expressed concern over the circulation of what he described as false and disturbing reports about Regina, particularly fabricated death announcements, misleading health reports and other hurtful publications circulating on social media.
He said such publications were deeply distressing to the actress and could further compound the challenges she was already facing.
Nwoko urged Regina’s genuine fans and supporters to discourage the spread of false information rather than amplify such content for social media engagement.
He further warned individuals allegedly hiding behind anonymous social media accounts to fabricate stories about Regina’s death, health and personal circumstances to desist from the practice.
The senator disclosed that the publications were being documented and warned that anyone found responsible for deliberately spreading false information would be held accountable through appropriate legal channels.
He maintained that Regina deserved the opportunity to recover without being subjected to daily fabricated reports and unnecessary public scrutiny.
