The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Hon. Justice Simeon C. Amadi, has announced the constitution of Local Government Election Tribunals ahead of the council elections scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025.

In a statement issued from the Chief Judge’s Chambers in Port Harcourt, Justice Amadi approved the appointment of Chairmen and Members of the tribunals in accordance with Section 1 (1) (2) (3) and (4) of the Rivers State Local Government Election Tribunals Law No. 3 of 2000 (as amended).

The appointed members are:

First TribunalKilsi Giadom, Esq. – Chief Magistrate (Chairman)

Promise Green, Esq. – Member

Ven. Christian John-Jaja – Member

Second Tribunal

Harry Sotonye Linda, Esq. – Chief Magistrate (Chairman)

Anthony Enyinda, Esq. – MemberAzubuike Georgewill – Member

Third Tribunal

Chimenem B. Okekem, Esq. – Chief Magistrate (Chairman)

Israel Dagogo Israel, Esq. – Member

Ala Atonibere, Esq. – Member

Justice Amadi congratulated the appointees and disclosed that their official swearing-in ceremony would hold next week, with the exact date and time to be communicated by the Chief Registrar.

The inauguration of the tribunals is expected to strengthen the credibility of the forthcoming local government elections in Rivers State.
