The Solidarity Movement, Ukwa West Chapter, has inaugurated its Akwa-Ibom ward executives in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State and adopted the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ukwa East West Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Esq., as its preferred candidate for the 2027 National Assembly election.
The inauguration took place on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Ezendioma, Obuzor Asa, Ukwa West Local Government Area, with members of the movement drawn from different parts of the area in attendance.
Addressing the gathering, the President of the Solidarity Movement, Hon. Innocent Chiuwa, explained that the creation of the Akwa-Ibom ward was intended to ensure that members of the Akwa-Ibom community in Ukwa West were adequately reached and carried along in the movement’s activities.
Chiuwa clarified that the ward was not an Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) electoral ward but an initiative established to improve communication and ensure that the Akwa-Ibom people in Ukwa West received information and benefited from activities associated with Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu.
“This ward is not an INEC ward, but Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu’s ward. He created the ward to make sure everything will reach the Akwa-Ibom people in Ukwa West,” Chiuwa said.
The movement’s president also charged the newly inaugurated executives and members to intensify mobilisation at the grassroots and take the message of the movement to the people ahead of the 2027 National Assembly election.
He urged them to work together, strengthen their grassroots structures and ensure that the movement’s support for Nwogu translated into effective mobilisation across their communities.
In his remarks, the Akwa-Ibom ward coordinator of the Solidarity Movement, Mr. Peace Marker Sunday, expressed appreciation to the leadership of the movement for the inauguration and appealed for continued solidarity and support for Hon. Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu.
Sunday also called on members of the newly inaugurated ward structure to remain committed to the movement’s objectives and intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general election.
The event concluded with prayers, while members of the Akwa-Ibom ward pledged their total support for Nwogu’s aspiration to represent Ukwa East West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027.
